Is it okay to use a credit card if I am thinking about bankruptcy?
It is wiser not to. If you use it as you normally would, especially for necessities, it may not be challenged. But if you put any big ticket items or take out cash advances shortly before you declare bankruptcy, the court may decide that it was a fraudulent use of your card, as you probably didn’t intend to pay it off. In this case, the debt may not be discharged during bankruptcy (you will still have to pay it) and the process may delay your bankruptcy, too.
