If my spouse declares bankruptcy and I am listed on their credit cards, am I responsible for the debt?
If you are simply listed as an authorized user, you may not be responsible for the debt that your spouse has put on the cards. But if you are co-debtor on the account, then you will probably have to pay the debt or damage your own credit rating. Ask your spouse to bring this up with the bankruptcy trustee before papers are filed, especially if most of the debt is on cards that you hold jointly.
