I am divorced and my ex has declared bankruptcy. Do I still owe for debts and credit cards that I co-signed with my spouse?

Unfortunately, yes. Even though you are no longer married, you are legally obliged to take over the loan and credit debt if you acted as a co-signer. If your divorce was not a friendly one and you think your ex may be having financial problems, it may even be a good idea to contact these creditors to ensure that the payments are being made in a timely fashion. Otherwise, you may be in for an unpleasant surprise the next time you apply for credit.
