Most provinces will allow you to keep one car, providing it falls below their exemption cap. If the value of your car is more than the provincial asset exemption allows, you may have to surrender your vehicle or provide the value above the cap to your trustee for distribution to creditors. If you own multiple vehicles, it is probable that you will need to surrender some of them to repay creditors.
